Hello Members, We have reopened!! We cannot wait to see you and get back into what we do best, being a part of your health and wellbeing journey! The team has been busy planning our process and practices to ensure we’re offering a safe facility for all our Members. As would be expected, we have implemented some guidelines for your upcoming visit to Geelong’s Gym. I understand this post is considerably long, but please take the time to read through. These guidelines may change in the coming weeks or months in line with the advice we receive from the government and industry bodies. We feel it’s a great start and as always, we welcome feedback from our Members. We are just so excited to have you back. GROUP FITNESS & SPINNING CLASSES Capacity Our Spinning Classes and Group Fitness Classes will be reduced in capacity to 10 participants for the time being. This is to ensure we adhere to maximum headcount and social distancing guidelines. Timetable You can find our updated timetable here. We want to make sure as many Members as possible can continue to use these services. So, Group Fitness Classes will be reduced to 40 minutes. You may also notice our timetable will change more frequently to allow more Members to enjoy the classes they love. Bookings required Members will be required to book into classes ahead of time until advised otherwise. This is to ensure we adhere to the maximum capacity. Bookings for Group Fitness and Spinning Classes will be via the Geelong’s Gym MINDBODY platform. Members will be able to book into classes up to 7 days in advance. In these restricted circumstances, we ask Members to limit class participation to 3 classes per week. This will allow more Members to access the classes. Why not try something new instead of a class during this period – Cardio equipment or weights! How to book Click here to access the booking platform To be able to book classes you will need to use the email address associated with your Membership account to register. Registering under an email address which isn’t this one will mean you are unable to book the classes (as this email address is associated with your Geelong’s Gym Membership). If you are unsure of this email address, please email [email protected] Click here for instructions on how to book and how to register. If you have previously registered on the MINDBODY booking system and forgotten your password, you will need to click “Need new password”. You will need to use the email address listed above to reset your password. Click here for instructions. If you are no longer using the email above or wish to change the email registered to your membership, please email [email protected] with the subject line “Email address update”. Cancellations Members will have the ability to cancel their place in classes up to 12 hours prior to the class start time. After this time, a $10 fee will be charged or late cancellations or no-shows. As I’m sure our Members can understand, we want to ensure our classes are full and Members don’t miss out. If an emergency arises and you are unable to attend with late notice, please give Geelong’s Gym a call on (03) 5221 1126. Waitlist We will have a short waitlist available for each class and we will contact Members on the waitlist should a place in the class become available. GYM FLOOR If you’re just enjoying the regular gym floor or cardio equipment, there is no need to book. Just turn up to Geelong’s Gym as you normally would. Physical distancing is important, and we want to make sure all our Members feel comfortable on the gym floor. We have decided to open Zone 10 (personal training studio) for all Members to use during reception hours. This is a great opportunity for our Members to try out the different equipment in this area. CHANGE ROOMS AND SHOWERS As per government advice, our change rooms and showers will also be open as normal to all Members from Monday 22 June. Please continue to practice physical distancing and good hygiene when using these facilities. HOW CAN YOU HELP? We encourage Members to limit their workouts to a maximum of one hour, so all our Members can continue their own health and wellbeing journeys. Please continue to practice good hygiene. Use hand sanitiser located around the gym and upon entry. Please continue to use the disinfectant wipes found throughout the gym before and after using the equipment. Instructors will be reminding Members at the conclusion of classes to disinfect the equipment they use (step, pump bar, spin bike etc.). Stay at home if you are unwell and have any symptoms of Covid-19. Please click here to view symptoms Maintain a physical distance of 1.5 metres between you and your fellow Geelong’s Gym Members. Remember, your health is most important. We’ve had several Members tell us they’ve not been exercising much during this break. If you haven’t been working out as strenuously as you usually would during this time away from the gym, please ensure you listen to your body in the first few weeks and ease back into your regular workouts. As always, our team are on hand should you have any questions or concerns. HOW ELSE ARE WE HELPING? We will continue to operate 24/7 to ensure all our Members can get to the gym. We’ve increased the volume of cleaning at the gym and you will notice cleaners will be at the gym during the day also. An increased number of hand sanitiser stations and disinfectant wipes are located around the gym, please continue to use these diligently. * * * We hope these guidelines assist with your planning to return to Geelong’s Gym. As we mentioned in our last update, we’re excited to announce that our first week of reopening (Monday 22 June – Sunday 28 June) will be FREE to all existing Geelong’s Gym Members. We will action this automatically on your behalf. Your direct debits will commence on the 3rd or 10th of July (dependent on your debit cycle). We will be discontinuing our online workouts. But will review feedback from Members to assess whether it’s something we offer in the future. If you have any questions, please let us know. Stay Strong and see you next week. Gerard |
