As we gear up for season 7 of TRIBE Team Training, it’s a great time to explore the many benefits this style of training program has to offer.
So, what is TRIBE and what are the benefits of joining a TRIBE team for the upcoming season? Well, I’m glad you asked.
TRIBE is a licensed global small group personal training system designed as a mid-tier offering for those who want the support of a team without the cost of one-on-one personal training. You also get the opportunity and the fast-tracked results that often come with committing to working with the same coach for the whole six-week season. At Geelong’s Gym we agree with TRIBE when they say “together everyone will achieve more”, which is why we are big fans of the program.
The team element and social accountability is definitely one of the draw cards of the program that keeps members coming back for more. Working with the same coach and training alongside the same team members builds a sense of camaraderie, encouragement and support that helps to spur everyone on.
We currently run three different TRIBE programs to cater to all fitness levels and offer variety in the style of workout. TRIBE Fit, TRIBE Core and TRIBE Life each include two group training sessions per week. The sessions are held in Zone 10, which is our private PT and group PT training room, giving our TRIBE teams a space which they can call their own during their workouts.
I believe there are three key benefits of joining a TRIBE;
1. Working with a coach
The personal training element comes into play with TRIBE due to your ability to work consistently with your coach for the whole six weeks. This allows the coach to get to know you, where you are at with your fitness and what your goals are. This is one of the key differences of TRIBE when compared to regular group fitness programming. The capped numbers in the group ensure that you don’t get lost in the crowd and our coaches can make sure exercises suit your needs, modifying them if required.
2. Programmed progression.
Each season of TRIBE is designed to help you make progress over the six-week season. The core exercises performed early in the program are built upon with variations to become progressively more challenging as you improve each week. Undertaking a program which has been written for 12 sessions helps you achieve measured progress which you may miss if you were to participate in a bunch of one off HIIT workouts instead.
Being a six-week program, you are committing yourself to 12 sessions from the outset and paying upfront. There’s almost no better way to ensure you follow through on your word than the feeling that you might not get your money’s worth. Seeing results takes commitment and a commitment to TRIBE can be made without breaking the bank.

At the moment it feels as though TRIBE is one of our best kept secrets but we don’t think it should stay that way. Season 7 kicks off on November 12 and as always, we have a free trial week the week before to give you the opportunity to dip you toes in before you take the plunge.
