We’re writing to you today with some very exciting news.
Over the past months, the Geelong Cats been working closely with Geelong’s Gym owner Gerard Spriet to transition the ownership of the facility to the football club.
Gerard will remain integral to the future of Geelong’s Gym and we are pleased to let you know he’ll be staying on as the gym’s manager.
The decision to purchase Geelong’s Gym aligns with the clear purpose and longer-term strategy we have, which is to improve the lives of and care for our community. We’re committed to the wellbeing of our people and are excited for our venture into health and fitness.
The long and storied history of Geelong’s Gym is something we as a football club admire and is testament to the fantastic people like Gerard and his staff who have built the gym to what it is today.
As a football club, we honour our past and recognise how it has formed who we are today. But equally, we look to the future with excitement and an adventurous spirit. This is the same mindset we have for Geelong’s Gym and can’t wait to share with you some of the exciting improvements we see in the future.
Although this is our first public health facility, we are proud to bring across our experts in high performance, health and rehabilitation from the football club to assist you on your unique wellness journey.
We are so excited to be a part of the Geelong’s Gym community and for you to be a part of ours. Stay tuned as we’ll have some exciting announcements over the coming weeks that we can’t wait to share with you.
