Result with a client: I don’t look at it that black and white. Results aren’t always about what others see. For example losing 20kgs is a great result for a person, if that’s what they are working towards. Everyone can see that they have lost the weight, they look better and healthier and they are possibly a lot happier. However another person may overcome shyness, insecurities, depression, self-hate through exercise, things that aren’t as visible to others but to that individual it’s a great result.
I began my fitness ‘crusade’ – for lack of a better word at 40 because I was suffering depression. No one could actually see it but it was there everyday.
My 15 years in the industry has taught me that success and results comes from within and it starts with YOU. You have to feel good about yourself and believe in yourself before you can help others find their AWESOME. Women struggle with this concept because we are givers but we ALL HAVE OUR AWESOME.
Favourite exercise: burpees, deadlifts and boxing.
Favourite cardio exercise: kettlebells (and lifting weights faster)
Fitness philosophy: 1. You can do anything you set your mind to AND, 2. You can’t out-train a shit diet.
What I love about personal training: I truly love helping people achieve things they never thought possible, regardless of how big or small. I also love what this industry has done for me personally in helping me through some tough times and coming out of it a stronger person.
Favourite food: I just love all food in general.. no, really, I do!
Sporting hero: I don’t have a sporting hero as such, to me any athlete who is authentic and has a passion for what they do is a hero.
Ideal Client: Dedicated, committed, serious about their health, self motivated.
