Frequently Asked Questions

Q What is the price of membership?

Because we understand that different people have different needs, we have a whole variety of different pricing options and membership styles.

We believe Personal Training is the most effective and efficient way for people to achieve their goals and get results. Why? Because it keeps them accountable, makes sure they come regularly and guarantees they’ll use every ounce of energy, strength and endurance they’ve got in them.

For this reason, we offer a number of membership options with various levels of Personal Training included in them. However, if you really don’t want to take advantage of having a Trainer, we also have memberships available which provide full access to the gym without the benefit of a Trainer.

Because we have so many different options available, we like to talk to you first and find out which membership is going to suit you best. For that reason we don’t list our prices, but rest assured, there is something to fit every budget.
We consider the needs of our community and so we have different prices available for seniors, students and teenagers.

Our pricing is based on 12 month memberships, but if you do need to leave the Gym for any reason, it’s no big deal. At the most it will cost you no more than 4 weeks of your membership rate,

What hours are you open?

We are open every day of the week all year, except Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and Good Friday. That means we’re open 96.5 hours every week!

Our Opening Hours are:

Monday – Thursday 5.30am – 9.00pm
Fridays 5.30am – 8.00pm
Saturday – Sunday 8.00am – 6.00pm

Opening Hours will vary on Public Holidays.

What kind of classes do you offer?

We have a huge variety of classes across the whole week.  In fact, we have 57 classes on every week, so there is something on at most times of the day.  To have a look at our timetable click here.

Some of our most popular classes are Yoga Fit, the Les Mills classes (particularly Body Pump and Body Step) and, of course, Spinning.  If you want to find out more about each class on offer click here.

But what makes our classes so popular are the Instructors who take them.  We hand pick our Instructors so that we have the most enthusiastic people who are passionate about making their classes fun, interesting and, most of all, a great workout for our members.  That’s why we include a mix of freestyle and structured classes so that you will always get variety in your workout.

What are your busiest times?

Our busiest times are 9.00 – 10.30am and 5.30 – 7.00pm.  There is a great atmosphere in the gym as people socialize while working out and it’s a real hub of activity.

But don’t be put off… even during our busiest periods there is access to equipment and we don’t put time limits on our cardio machines, so you can still get the great workout you came in for.

And if you prefer to workout during a quieter time, there are numerous points during the day when the gym is operating at a quiet hum.

Do you have a family membership?

We have many families who are members at our gym, however, we don’t offer a family membership pack because each family is different.  We do have different prices available for teenagers, students and seniors.

Most family members have different requirements from the rest of their family when it comes to suspending or canceling their membership, so at Geelong’s Gym we treat everybody as an individual so they don’t have to be locked into the same arrangement as the rest of their family.

Do I have to pay extra for Personal Training?

If you elect to have Personal Training as part of your membership, then there is no extra cost involved. But never fear… if you join on an access only membership and decide a little bit down the track that you’d like to do some Personal Training, you can. It will cost extra, but it is money well spent.  If you have a goal you are working towards and need some motivation to keep you on track, then Personal Training will be perfect for you.  Just ask some of our members who have a Personal Trainer and they’ll tell you about the amazing results they have achieved with the help of a trainer.

The most important thing with Personal Training is finding the right trainer for you, someone that you are going to feel comfortable with but who is going to be able to push you further than you will push yourself.  If you want to find out a bit more about our trainers and see which one will suit you best, click here.

Do I need to be a member to use the Gym?

No, you don’t. We have casual fees - $15.00 for adults; $12.50 for students. However, if you are going to use the gym more than once a week, you will find it is much more economical to become a member.

Do you have a mixed gym?

Yes, our gym is mixed. We have a lot of space in the gym with all the latest equipment and you’ll find that everyone is very considerate of each other. We like to encourage a family atmosphere at Geelong’s Gym with everyone mingling together. We have all sorts of shapes and sizes working out in the gym, aged from 12 to over 90, and you don’t need to be in the latest fitness outfit to fit in

10 Reasons to Join Geelong's Gym

Geelong's Gym is perfect for us…

Player Darren Milburn with trainer Paul Haines

“Our team has been using Geelong’s Gym in pre-season training, especially as our training facilities were under renovations, and we have been continuing to utilize the Geelong's Gym facility with the junior players. We have found it to be in the perfect position for us, with a very welcoming environment where our players are able to train without being disturbed. It has proven to be a good alternative to our training facilities, somewhere fresh where we don’t feel like we’re at work. Geelong’s Gym is perfect for us because it has all the facilities we need, with an excellent amount of space, where we’re treated as regular members of the public.”
